Rock and Water Testimonials
Words from course participants
Sometimes in life we are fortunate enough to do things or meet people that change our lives in a positive way. I feel very fortunate that Brian Hayes and the Rock and water program have changed who I am for the better.
I know the ultimate gain is teaching boys appropriate skills for dealing with bullying, but I have learned more assertiveness and self-respect, skills I know I will have and use for the rest of my life.
Thankyou Brian

Dear Brian,
In my rush to leave, I didn’t get a chance to thank you for the three days of Rock and Water training. It was one of the best teacher training programs I have been to. I also appreciate your sharing of personal stories. You created a safe and friendly atmosphere for all of us, giving us the opportunity to extend ourselves without feeling threatened. I don’t think there are many teachers or instructors who can generate a similar environment in such a short time.
Thanks again,
Ali Razzaghi (Sydney, March 2008)
As a teacher, being taught is often frustrating when the presenter is not engaging. I’d have loved History if Brian was the teacher. His story telling always dragged me in even as I became tired…

Brian was a fantastic presenter and as an ex-teacher made it relevant and practical. He hit the nail on the head in so many ways. Thankyou

The strengths of the program are in its simplicity and wholistic approach to understand who we are and how we are with others. Practical and engaging content.
Thankyou Brian for leading us through the course. Your humour, passion and encouragement and expertise are refreshing. I admire the courage and conviction you shared about yourself to bring life to the course.

I have thoroughly enjoyed these 3 days. I’ve surprised myself on numerous occasions by showing focus and strength I didn’t think I possessed. I love how well rock and water applies to all areas of life. Even driving home yesterday caught in traffic I used my ground/centre/focus. This program has had a huge impact on me and Brian used his passion, thorough knowledge and excellent sense of humour to lead us. Thankyou.
Catherine Guthrie, Canberra 2008

An outstanding 3 days. Brian, your knowledge, passion, delivery of information, sense of humour and ability to provide anecdotal information of how it works in the real world was quite empowering. Many thanks.

This program has inspired me, made me not only see a connection but feel it, and I hope I can have a positive influence on my students, and allow them too to feel this meaningful connection of the core self and life.

Rock and Water benefits you as a person and also for our vocation as a teacher. Thankyou for your enthusiasm, passion, guidance and for inspiring me. I have learned so much about myself, that I would never have if I didn’t do this program.

Well done, Brian. The best inservice I have been to and the most practical.
Most enjoyable PD I’ve done as Brian used humour and passion in his delivery

The strengths of the program? Brian’s belief in and passion for the program. The potential for transfer to our work environment is huge. Wonderful practical development/enhancement of lifestyles and self confidence.
This training will impact hugely on my life and my work. Every member of the program was able to step up, challenge themselves and learn in a safe environment. I’m inspired and I’ll be on a high from breaking that wood for weeks!
Attending this felt like a massive privilege.
Bronwyn Lunt, REHAB, Mental Health, SE Sydney and Illawarra Area Health Service.
The exercises were a lot of fun, but the underlying messages and the empowerment that you get from completing them is invaluable.
This program has really opened my mind and has forced me to challenge myself in ways I didn’t think I could. I can’t wait to try and impart some of these skills with my clients – I think it will play a very useful role in rehabilitating mental health clinets and will provide them with ways of hyaving hope for change.
I am in total awe of the instructor – absolutely fantastic! If I can instruct others with even half as much skill, patience, awareness and support – I know I will assist others to change their lives. Thankyou!
Sarah Watson, Mental health Rehab, SESIAHS
Brian is an excellent teacher. He is passionate, clear, focused and loves Rock and Water. Brian obviously loves young people, changing the world and his job.
It woke my passion again. Being grounded and centred is something I need to live each day and to teach. I’d love to teach Rock and Water every day. I think it will cross boundaries and work with trauma. Thankyou Brian, you taught me a lot. I appreciate it probably more than you think.
